Overseas Missions

Pray for the growth and health of the newly forming United Methodist Church in Cambodia.

Did you know that only "one generation ago, Christians in Cambodia were nearly all massacred in the killing fields of Kymer Rouge. But from the ashes, to gospel grew new roots and people have come to Christ in all of Cambodia's 19 provinces. Pray today for the children of this holocaust, who are now leaders of churches and families". (From Through the Bible's Prayer Request.) Continue praying for the good health and ministry of Clara Biswas, our missionary and for successful ministry with the street children.

Growing Food for God's People

Hope you are staying warm during this extremely chilly weather!  While the garden rests this winter, several things are in the works to help make this summer a super growing season.

To improve the soil, we’re cultivating a heap of compost near the shed.  Thanks to new volunteers Mary and George, we have a mix of fall leaves, manure and wood chips.  In March it will get mixed and I’ll be asking for your help.

Next Saturday, 2/28 from 10am-12pm we will host a Meet ‘n Greet for other community gardens in the area.  We’ll share ideas and resources, and collaborate on future plans.  If you know of other gardens, please invite them.   You are welcome to come just ask that you RSVP to me.

Planting day will be scheduled in late April/early May depending on the weather.  We’ll meet soon to plan out ideas.

As we rest over the fall/winter, it’s a good time to consider how best to recruit more volunteers.  If you have ideas to share please let me know.  Thanks to Camille who has volunteered to make our social media even stronger.  Special thanks to Amy Simpson who started our Facebook page and has helped us move into the 21st century with communicating what we do!

WISH LIST-
+ Help to cut t-shirts into garden ties.
+ Carpentry help to repair lid on compost bin.
